Mortality

The steed snorts
a conviction of
unquestioned majesty
Fiery flanks and wild mane
tear across the canvas
of quixotic reverie

With a pulsating trampling
of uninterrupted lassitude
the morning gives way
The earth can't contain
all that resides
in the unbleached wild

Violent hooves shatter
the spectre
of unrealized tomorrows
Carnal teeth repel
reminders of unfulfilled yesterdays

Watch as the hawk swoops
with unabashed assuredness
React with all of your
celestial instinct

Onward, beast!
The only moment is now!
Take it.

Where Time Spins in a Glass

This city is crying,

and I'm drowning

in its triple distilled
tears

Thinking of a sunrise

that escapes the eternity
of puddled perpectives

No matter
The here is now
A moment

Unqualified

by filtered regrets
and bubbling

with future nostalgia

A poisonous attraction
lubricated

by merry volition
and violent rhythms

The world is spinning
and we're swimming

in the ecstasy
of triple distilled tears.
