A Glance at Temptation

She dons her pearls,
fixes her hair
views angles in that
reflection of vanity

Posing
Contorting
Smiling
Amused

I stop in the doorway
silently gazing
with curious temptation
at this seductive display

And then suddenly
she notices,
blushes
then begins to laugh

And for that one instant
the curtain was pulled
on the hilarious comedy
of sex

Somewhere in the distance
erotic dreams are cast
and the unquenchable is sought
but the curtain is closed
on the hilarious comedy
of sex

the wry sound of these words makes me visualize you looking at yourself while looking at the woman who is looking at herself.

And you are..riveted, perhaps? Or just merely, well, amused.

I hope i am not too late for the last full show.

inkblot - Not quite laughing? That may be changed with just a few key strokes...

blue rogue - God, I hope there's never such thing as too late.

this was lovely. i always thought at some point that sex all came down to a great big comedy with people who are too busy with their hands to applaud the performance.

transience - Yeah, and applauding afterwards is probably a bit strange. Though I think it should be done at least once, for shits and giggles.

cool the way you repeat those penultimate and then final lines about the 'comedy of sex'.
when you actually think about it, fucking is funny. all those bums rising and falling!

Very beautiful and seductive. A blushing laughter! Nice! I wish the curtain never falls down. Nice work man!

cj - heh. indeedy.

stormy zephyr - Me too. But if the curtain never closed, I don't think anyone would get anything done. They'd be too busy getting randy and all of that.

**silvermOOn** - Just a peek.

prat - You said it!

I like the sensual humor in this poem and the thought provoking lines:
"Somewhere in the distance
erotic dreams are cast..."
